The City Government of Kabankalan, through the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), conducted an Orientation and Legal Awareness Seminar on Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) on April 15, 2026 at the SP Session Hall.

With the theme “Strengthening LGU Mechanisms Against VAWC,” the activity aimed to equip employees with knowledge on gender-based violence and legal responses. Atty. Juliana Ballesteros Carbon served as resource speaker, discussing Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-VAWC Act.

Messages of support were delivered by Hon. Helen G. Ibañez and Hon. Divina Superal Miranda (represented by Atty. Joselito Bayatan).

Participants also joined a workshop where they presented skits showing real-life application of the law.

The activity highlights HRMO’s commitment to a gender-sensitive and informed workforce. “Let us be the voice against Violence Against Women in our community,” said Ms. Aileen Trujillo, head of HRMO.
