Youth Empowerment Highlighted During Disaster Resilience Month
In observance of National Disaster Resilience Month 2025, the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) of Kabankalan, under the proactive leadership of Hon. Benjie Miranda, successfully conducted the DRRM Resilience Training Camp from July 1 to 4, 2025, at Balicaocao Eco Park, Kabankalan City.
The four-day camp was organized by the CDRRMO Capacity Enhancement and Training Section, in collaboration with the Bureau of Fire Protection – Kabankalan City Fire Station and the Philippine Red Cross – NOBCC Kabankalan Branch. It brought together 41 youth participants from various schools across the city.
Participants took part in a series of lectures and practical exercises focused on emergency preparedness, disaster response, and basic rescue techniques. The training aimed to strengthen their knowledge and equip them with essential life-saving skills empowering the youth to become proactive agents of safety and resilience in their communities.
