Kabankalan Environment and Natural Resources Office (KENRO) brought together leaders from 21 Barangay Councils and key agency representative for a comprehensive Waste Analysis and Characterization Study (WACS) orientation today, March 26,2026 at the Kabankalan Training Center (KTC).
City Administrator Atty. Mac Lord Zafra and CLGOO Mark Angelo Linas opened the session by emphasizing that waste segregation is not just a policy, but a foundational practice for a “Greener Kabankalan.”
The orientation was spearheaded by KENRO with the assistance of Environmental Management Bureau, Negros Island Region (EMB-NIR) headed by Regional Director Forester Vicente LosbaΓ±os.
The Respective agencies collaborated to implement the “4-Day Waste Segregation Practice,” which will be participated by different barangays in the city.
The segregation trial will be monitored by the panel of environmentalists Vinci Raymund, Shane Labrador, and Leo Singuay of EMB-NIR and Atty Julie Ann Bedrio of Provincial Environmental Management Office (PEMO).
