History
Barangay 4 came from one of the sitio named Sitio Buri which is named
for two significant nooks: one just at the eastern outskirts of the town which
is surrounded by sugarcane plantation, before it was palm trees plantation.
The other was Kabankalan River, where mount is just situated in upper
Calasa River and western direction of the vast Tampalon valley. It was
created as Barangay on July 5, 1976. It is located in the heart of Kabankalan
City.
Originally, the bigger portion of the barangay was agricultural area,
but at present it was converted into commercial area. Barangay 4 was
composed of four (4) puroks, namely, Purok Uhaw (Tayum and Lirazan
Street), Purok Dragon (Ramos Subdivision, Cordero Street), Purok Maabiabihon (Coloso Subdivision ) and Purok Buri.
