History

Barangay nine was organized in July 05, 1976 through Presidential Degree No.86, one of the last Barangay in poblacion of the City of Kabankalan. The first Barangay Official is appointed in the name Manoling Guanzon since 1965, well known Capitan del Bario, Abundio Repique in 1976, Delfin Lopez in 1979 and Alfredo Apuhan, Sr was elected Barangay officials since 1980, Antonio Mediadero in 1985, Expectacion Lapuz in 1994 to 2002 and then Edmundo M. Jaranilla has finished his three term as Punong Barangay, and his wife Cecelia C. Jaranilla was elected in 20l3 to July 20l8. From May 2018 up to present Edmundo M. Jaranilla has elected as Punong Barangay

Barangay IX composed of 631 totals house hold in 2019 and PSA actual population in 2019 is 2822 It has a total voting population of 1,890 in 2019. Total land area is 0761 hectares the people are engaged in small business.

Barangay IX is one the members of BUB livelihood Association and OTOP ( product) The association in known for the best produce of banana, camote, pinasugbo, and taro chips, The Association is awarded People choice Award for Camote chips.

Most of the people in the Barangay are engaged in small businesses, there are two colleges existing in the Barangay, which are Fellowship Baptist College and Southland College. There is also a private Hospital, Holy Mother of Mercy Hospital and there are two gasoline stations, a resort which is Zayco Land Resort.
