History

Barangay Camansi was named from the “Kamansi Tree”. During olddays the place was abundant of Kamansi tree where people use for their foods. The place was ful of native tress and all kinds’ of plants were found here. The houses were few and distances are far from one another. The people lived through farming (palay, corn and vegetables) and other farm products.

Kamansi trees were tall bearing plentiful fruits. This kind of trees can be found anywhere together with other plants and flowers. Also root crops and other source of food are at hand benevolent to the people living in the area. This is the reason why no hunger existed in this place those times.

Many years passed, the place was formally named as “Camansi” through the cooperation and initiative of the people and it was created as a small Pulo or else barrio. Little by little people were educated by going to school constructed here, even though made of light materials and there were teachers who are diligent teaching the children. Lately, 1960’s this place was formally formed into a Barrio Camansi, headed by the Kapitan Del Barrio.

In May 2018 election, Hon. Jude V. Semillano won the position of Punong Barangay. Serving its constituents by delivering programs and project.
