History
A thick trees and mangroves, a wide and deep river and lakes which led to the open sea. long time ago, according to our forefathers there was a place here surrounded by The early inhabitants of this place were quite, uncivilized yet they were so industrious and respectful. They were courteous and kind. As a means of livelihood, they planted palay and vegetable in small plots. They also gather fruits for their families.
According to the story, this place had three historical point named Mantadtad, Calumpang and Talisay. These three points were the landing places of Muslim who used to come, capture and kill ( Tadtad ) everyone they see and would not surrender to them.
Mantadtad, one of the three points, was the center entry of the Muslims. This was called Mantadtad by the natives they used to tadtad ( kill to places ) every native they found upon their arrival. Mantadtad is now called Capuling and the large canal which divides the sugarcane blocks from the Barangay proper to Capuling was ones a large lake which was the center entry of the Muslims. Those who were captured will surely be sold for slavery in Mindanao.
These three points were called by the natives, TULO KA BANGI. Tulo means three and bangi means a place or point. At that time, the native protects themselves and their families.
Later on on many inhabitants flocked into this place, they unite with each other and formed a somewhat civil or blood relationship, according to the story. This leads them to form a new group or barangay among themselves, and a few who were quite awkward to mention, must be changed. Then they decided to change it to TALUBANGI, this was approved by almost everybody.
The geographical feature, location is at Southwest of Kabankalan, boundaries: North – Had Clementina East – Mangao Building, South- Ilog Bridge, West – River Banks.
It has a land area of Three Hundred Seventy Seven Hectares ( 377 hectares ). It is covered with Seven Puroks,namely Purok 1, 2,3,4,5,6, and 7.
It is bounded by haciendas namely Hacienda Clementina, Hacienda San Isidro and Hacienda
Maria.
