A total of 44 graduating scholars under the Gender and Development Program of the Kabankalan City Social Welfare and Development Office underwent a Career Coaching at the City Function Hall on May 24.

Rosario Santillan, the Adolescent Health and Development Program coordinator, discussed the “Healthy Young Once Advocacy.”

The advocacy aims to decrease the statistics in teenage pregnancy which is increasing in Kabankalan City.

It is also aimed to educate the youth on the repercussions of early young parents, puberty, menstrual cycle, male and female reproductive system.

Elma Bachita, Public Employment Services Office manager, talked about her office’ program of assisting the youth in making appropriate career related choices compatible with one’s abilities.

She also discussed the career of life skills and career tool kit which include the requirements, resume, portfolio, and references.

Cyril Ramos, City Social Welfare and Development officer, reminded the scholars “that whatever happens to all of you in the future, that’s because of God’s plan.”
