Mayor Benjie M. Miranda welcomed Raul C. Alvarez Jr., REE, EdD, CESO III, Director IV of the Commission on Higher Education – CHED Negros Island Region, during a meeting on the Policies, Standards, and Guidelines on the Grant of Institutional Recognition to Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs) under CHED Memorandum Order No. 18, s. 2022, held today, April 23, 2026, at the SP Conference Hall.

Also present during the meeting were Councilors Helen Q. Ibañez and Macario Z. Zafra III, City Administrator Atty. Mac Lord O. Zafra, EnP Susana M. Casalem, Dr. Fernando Derama Abello, along with Executive Assistants and Department Heads.
